Guggenheim_Sketch Up_Shelter Competition

PRESENTATION: http://www.guggenheim.org/new-york/education/sackler-center/design-it-shelter/view-shelters/project/1471

DESCRIPTION

The model is designed in order to offer a place to sleep and study in a surrounding area capable of  making you get totally relaxed and concentrated.

The better place on Earth  for that to me is the desert.

I think the desert is the most silent and relaxing place ever…only the wind breaks the silence…

The measures and modelling of the shelter are the result of two main purposes:

  1. A compact and small shelter so that it can easily be moved.
  2. Anatomic spacesto sleep and work and even to keep personal things.

The used materials are inspired of traditional jaimas. A triangled light structure is wraped by several flexible layers for isolation and impermeabilization and finally the outter layer is made out of a camel hair fabric, just as traditional jaimas use to be.
