Kieran-Timberlake - Loblolly House (2007), Cellophane House (2008) in the arquia/film archive

This week in the arquia/film archive, we recommend the documentary about the Kieran Timberlake firm, an architecture studio in Philadelphia, leader of the 'green' architecture movement in the United States.

The documentary shows how its founders, Stephen Kieran and James Timberlake, developed innovative systems for combining sustainable design principles with prefabricated constructions for the mass customisation of houses.

The Loblolly House, built in the Chesapeake Bay area in Maryland in 2007, and the Cellophane House, a design executed for exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in 2008, are spectacular examples of the research focus they embody.
