Arquia Banca and the Red Cross renew their agreement

30 MAYO 2018 / FOUNDATION

The agreement promotes a specific and customised recovery in the job market that provides socio-occupational support, guidance and evaluation with actions designed to improve employability.

Through the Arquia Foundation, Arquia Banca, the cooperative credit union for professionals, has renewed its agreement with the Spanish Red Cross to support architecture professionals whose salaries have fallen dramatically due to the recent crisis in the sector.

On 15 May, Javier Navarro, the President of Arquia Banca, and Leopoldo Pérez, Secretary General of the Spanish Red Cross, renewed the agreement that will enable direct and personalised support to be provided to improve the training of professionals and help them to adapt to the demands of the modern job market, to help them find new sectors for their professional activity.

This programme, spearheaded by the Arquia Foundation and the Spanish Red Cross, will be implemented via this institution's Employment Plan Department, which specialises in supporting people who need to improve their employability and it has extensive experience in implementing programmes that promote job placements, with a high success rate.

Partnerships are established with the respective Architects' Associations in each of the provinces where the programme is being implemented.

As part of its social commitment and support for architecture professionals, Arquia Banca will run the programme together with the Red Cross' Employment Department, which will carry out the career reorientation and job placement process for the participants.

The scope of the programme will cover the whole of Spain, although this year it is being implemented in the province of Seville, in partnership with the Official Architects' Association of Seville. A pilot test was previously conducted in Granada in 2017, achieving an employment rate of 50%.

The programme is aimed at professionals who have a degree in the architecture sector that need to change the direction of their professional path and who are looking for new opportunities. Priority will be given to professionals over 45 years of age and/or in situations of long-term unemployment.
