  • GESTACIÓN DE LA CIUDAD EN LA GESTA DE ESPAÑA

Desde su origen a la maduración Plenomedieval

    ABSTRACT:

From its origin to Plenomedieval ripening

    ABSTRACT:

The Plenomedieval Spanish city, is not anything other than the essence of Spain. No doubt is in the process of the Reconquista, in which after the "Loss of Spain" and the virtual disappearance of all urban culture, where you will find the keys short gestation of Spain, its urban-Territorial structure and their onceptualization of the urban.

Since the repopulation of Lugo "Lucus Augusti" 759 by Bishop Odoario, and the Foundation of Fruela I of Asturias Oviedo, until the triumphant time of las Navas de Tolosa in 1212, after four centuries and medium and high middle ages, in which the concept of the city evolves and travels a long way, in my thesis he differentiated into four stages:

Protourban (until the disintegration of the Caliphate, the 1031)

Introduction to the urban (until the outlet of the Taifa of Toledo in 1085)

Urban construction (up to the abandonment of the project of "Hispanic Empire", the 1157)

Definition of the urban (until the time of las Navas de Tolosa in 1212)

Throughout this secular period, not you can speak virtually of the existence of a theoretical or speculative a reflection with respect to the city, but only practice of intervention normally linked to immediate problem-solving specific and based on needs arising from the social organizational framework, and above all the defensive needs and survival, in a context of deep religiosity and almost permanent fight against Islam.

It is precisely the gradual formation of a certain "urban culture", which marked the transition of medieval formed on the particularization of each place and understood as a set of places, towards a conception of urban induced already on the generation of urban space is regular. "Culture urban"built through the dilated effort repopulation and developer which took place during the reconquest, being the result of multiple trials and proceedings very variable according to territories and eras, and affected by infinite aspects such as:

    Methods of colonization and re-population

Organization of the nuclei and their administration

The use of Roman origin semi-abandoned nuclei

    The reorganization of the territories

    Stabilization of power systems

    Urban religious understanding

    The institutional Church role

The assimilation of the regular trace and use conscious or simply inherent

Relations with the Universitas Christiana [Europe]

The relative cultural Islam and the Hebrewism Exchange

    Authentic urban culture which ended:

    1. Generating and developing the urban and territorial processes that constitute the Foundation of the city Plenomedieval and Urbano-Territorial system that reaches up to modern times.

    2. Projecting in the Spanish city in America, city which will germinate in a territory and a reality absolutely different, "The Indies" [America].
